The Family Relationship Centre
What is The Family Relationship Centre?
Improving outcomes through information, community connections, education and specialised support services for families experiencing difficulties and change.
What is Involved
As part of the reform of the Family Law System in 2005, the Australian Government launched com¬munity resource centres for families called Family Relationship Centres. In 2006, the first of the Family Relationships Centres (FRCs) appeared across Australia, funded by the Government and operated by consortiums of leading family relationships services providers. Today there are 65 FRCs across the country.
Relationships Australia’s State and Territory organisations, operate a large percentage of the Family Relationship Centres across Australia.
Family Relationship Centres can link you in with a range of services and programs, which are aimed at families at all stages of their relationships. FRC’s also offer family dispute resolution (FDR) for families who have separated.
No referral is required and clients may access the Family Relationship Centre either personally or by telephone. Clients are often referred to our service by lawyers, courts, Centrelink, Child Support Agency or the Family Relationships Advice Line.
Who Is The Family Relationship Centre For?
Family Relationship Centres offer services and programs to families at all stages of their life, including people starting relationships, those wanting to make their relation¬ships stronger, those having relationship difficulties and those affected when families separate. The Centres encourage separating parents to focus strongly on the needs of their children.
