1. Do fun things together. Each family member should take a turn at choosing an activity.
2. Celebrate as a family each individual’s achievements.
3. Turn off the TV when you have dinner, and talk about the day’s events.
4. Have family rituals that everyone can attend, for example, Sunday breakfast, walking the dog.
5. Tell stories about individuals, family events and important moments.
6. Find ways of comforting that work for each individual.
7. Do things with other families.
8. Share the household responsibility, and give children jobs so they can contribute.
9. Be adaptive.
10. Say “I love you” every day.
